Technically savvy (and/or really dorky) fans of 24 will have noticed that a female terrorist near the end of 24 tonight had Google Earth up and running on her laptop during a phone conversation from some other Russian terrorists. She was being asked to find "building schematics" that could be used to help efficiently release Syntox (sp?) nerve gas.

24 is showing terrorists how to terrorize!!!!!!!!!!!

We don't know the target...

But here is a screenshot from the show:

But we are damn lucky that the white house and the capital are blurred in the real google earth...

Oh wait, google removed the blur?

Oh n0es!!!!!!!!!! teh trerrorist H4X0Rz will bom teh planet!

I'm sorry, but this has got to be the most irrisponsible thing the creators of 24 have ever done. Keifer, don't get me wrong, but you should have caught that. Google earth is an empowering tool. I can't remember the last time i had to use mapquest or mapcraptacular website. The sheer flexibility and ease of use of Google earth is simply a map/photograph/golf course locator, with mass transit overlays. It's not a frickin terrorist tool to get building schematics.

the problem that now happens is politicians and other stupid people (alarmists, blondes, whatever) are going to flip out and think that google earth helps terrorists. they better like make sure the patriot bill gives unrestricted access to anyone who's ever used google earth... in fact, anyone who's ever watched 24 for that matter.

in order to help out, i'd like to offer some advice: the next time you give directions to a stranger, you could be helping a terrorist. so don't talk to anyone you don't know... actually even the people you know could be terrorists. remember NINA!?!!!?! jack does.

I love 24, and i love google earth. and i thought the two could get along. but apparently 24 cheated on google earth. and cheated bad.

Do you ever pay attention to the news? The problem with Google Earth giving out too much information has been an issue since it first went public.

Jeeeez. Who the hell takes a simple blog post so seriously??

I think all the anonymous people would feel better if they just located the nearest Ice Cream Truck and bought an orange cream popsicle or found a puppy to pet or something.
